ESPN

Its here, its here!!!! What's here? The Body Issue of ESPN the Magazine of course! I know I said it doesn't come out until the 18th, but I was misinformed. Its already on the newsstand. I ran out and grabbed a stack already. There's also a video online that can be found at: http://search.espn.go.com/2010-body-issue/video/6 of course you can watch both videos, but I only make a cameo in the second one. Shooting for the magazine was so much fun. I felt like such a rock star! They flew me in first class, and had a limo waiting for me at the airport. I had accommodations at a hotel overlooking Central Park and it was gorgeous! For the photoshoot, I had a make-up artist, a wardrobe stylist, and a whole production team. I was waiting for the other athletes to get there until I realized the entire day was for me, can we say speechless! I had a blast. It seemed like we took hundreds of pictures, and the end result in the magazine is really cool. I hope y0u all enjoy it. I'll make sure to fill you all in on how the premiere party goes. As always, thank you for sharing this journey with me!
Love and Blessings,
Amber

Throws Information

Throwing formats
In Olympic throwing events -- men's and women's shot put, discus, hammer and javelin -- the competition begins with a qualifying round in which the entire field is divided into two or more groups. In this round, competitors take turns attempting to reach a pre-set distance that automatically advances them to the final. If fewer than 12 athletes meet the distance required from direct qualification, the 12 competitors with the best throws, plus any athletes tying for 12th, advance to the final. In the final round, competitors take turns until each has attempted three throws. At this point, the top eight-ranked competitors (plus ties) receive three more throws. The best throw of the six is counted and the athlete with the longest throw is declared the winner. In case of a tie, the second-best throw is consulted.
